Bangkok airport, August 2015.
This is my first time backpacking solo. I am super excited and a bit anxious at the same time. I’m waiting in line for the passport control, it’s insanely crowded, there are people coming from all around the world, everyone is here for a different reason, has a different purpose and what we all have in common is a foreign passport.
This passport is an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone, seeking adventure and to explore what’s beyond the borders.
We only go once to a place for the first time. Take a moment to realise and make the best out of that opportunity.
My name is Adrien Olinger, I am 28 years old, I am french, I live in the amazing city of Amsterdam and these are my travel stories.
My adventures got me to surf with dolphins in Australia, learn Muay Thai in Thailand, photobomb a sea turtle 30m deep in Indonesia, swim in the Mekong River, discover a hidden blue Lagoon in Laos, have this one night in Bangkok, go on a Safari in South Africa and many more.
I have been backpacking across countries, went on road trips, took countless buses, taxis, planes. I walked a lot, got flat tires, broke engines, walked even more. I discovered new cultures, new hidden places, went off-road, got lost, argued with google map, found my way back, declared love to google map, ate unknown things that tasted like chicken. Everything tastes like chicken. Also, thanks to all of this, I met amazing people from all around the world.
I am truly grateful to have lived these incredible adventures and that’s why I decided to share that passion through this blog. I want to share my stories, my experiences, my tips and hope to inspire you like I am about travelling.
Welcome to the adventure!
